Pass FAQ

Can I use a SIFF Cinema pass at SIFF Cinema Downtown?

SIFF Cinema passes are not valid for screenings at SIFF Cinema Downtown. This decision was made due to distributor restrictions on pass use for the films we screen here, as well as the venue’s reserved seating feature that limits day-of seating availability.

How do I use my SIFF Cinema pass?

After your purchase, our Box Office staff will mail your SIFF Cinema pass to you.

In-person Screenings: Bring your pass to any SIFF venue and let our Box Office staff know what show you are attending. They will scan your pass barcode like a ticket. Please note that your SIFF Cinema pass will be invalid if the barcode is removed or destroyed. The SIFF Cinema Pass cannot be used to reserve tickets ahead of time; it must be scanned at the theater for the show you are about to see.

How do I use my SIFF Cinema Pass for screenings on standby?

For screenings that have gone on standby, an allotted amount of seats will be saved for cinema pass holders at all eligible Film Center and Uptown showtimes. You can scan your pass starting 30 minutes before showtime. After the allotted amount of cinema pass holders have entered, any remaining pass holders can join the standby line and will be granted access to the screening if seats become available.

What shows are eligible for the SIFF Cinema pass?

The SIFF Cinema Pass is valid for all regularly priced SIFF Cinema screenings until the pass expires. This includes in-person screenings at the SIFF Film Center, SIFF Cinema Uptown, and SIFF Cinema Egyptian as well as virtual screenings on the SIFF Channel.

It does not provide access to any Festival screenings (Seattle International Film Festival, DocFest, Cinema Italian Style, and Noir City), SIFF Cinema Downtown, 3rd party rentals, SIFF Film Talks, or special events. Please note: the exclusion of access to mini festivals including DocFest, Cinema Italian Style, and Noir City is a change from previous year-round cinema pass rules.

Some film distributors may limit the use of passes for the first 2 weekends of a film's exhibition. Any pass restricted screenings or films will be noted on siff.net/passexclusions. For further information and exclusions, check with any SIFF Box Office location or email boxoffice@siff.net.

How often can I use the SIFF Cinema pass?

The SIFF Cinema Pass provides unlimited access to SIFF Cinema screenings. There are no restrictions on the number of times it can be used per day or per year. The pass can be scanned only once per showtime, and is non-transferable.
