Allegro non troppo
Italy | 1977 | 85 min. | Bruno Bozzetto | Italian
An enterprising Italian filmmaker thinks he's come up with an innovation for the ages: animation set to classical music! In this raunchy, tongue-in-cheek spoof of Disney’s Fantasia, Bruno Bozzetto whips up six musical vignettes with the help of an orchestra of old ladies, a tyrannical conductor, and an animator they keep imprisoned in the basement. Rarely seen and newly remastered, Allegro non troppo contains sequences so beautiful and well-regarded in the history of animation, Walt Disney didn’t even sue him. Co-presented by Unstreamable.
