October 15, 2022
Triggered by an unexpected tragedy, gay artist and activist Daniel, who is also a deeply religious man, tries hard to make the local community grieve together.
SIFF year-round passes and vouchers are not valid for this film.
Daniel, an artist, comes from the countryside and was brought up within the structures of the Catholic Church. His relationship with Olek is evolving in secret. The suicide of a religious queer girl from his village pushes him to fight for tolerance. He tries to unite the community, but everyone turns his back on him. The story is based on real-life events.
Daniel is respected by his village community as long as he bravely supports the fight for their affairs. He is in love with the boy next door, Olek, who is not ready to reveal his sexual identity. Their relationship develops in secret. When a teenage friend can no longer take homophobic attacks and commits a suicide, Daniel tries to convince the villagers to organise a service of the Stations of the Cross together for the intention of the victim.
