To Be Continued《尚未完場》begins with the successful grassroots campaign to preserve the iconic State Theatre 皇都戲院 in North Point and gradually uncovers the forgotten legacy of Harry Odell, an expat and trailblazing impresario who shaped Hong Kong’s cultural scene in the 1950s. Director Dora Choi takes us through the five-year journey of her co-director Haider Kikabhoy’s research and interviews surrounding the life of Odell, offering a reflective exploration of the cosmopolitan and adventurous spirit of postwar Hong Kong.
Pang Jai「棚仔」— a fabric market in Sham Shui Po established in the late 1970s — stands as a poignant relic of Hong Kong’s once-thriving textile industry and its industrious vitality, now past its prime. Stories of Pang Jai《風吹布動》chronicles the struggle of resilient vendors against the juggernaut of urban redevelopment, documenting their everyday lives where threads of perseverance and community solidarity are tightly interwoven.
