Let the Dance Begin
Carlos and Margarita were the most famous and recognized tango couple of their time but when Carlos gets an urgent message that Margarita has passed, an unexpected road trip is set in motion, old resentments surface, and old flames are rekindled.
One-time tango sensation Carlos Moreno (Dario Grandinetti, Wild Tales) is tired. Living a quiet life in Spain alongside his wife and daughter, and sporting what might be the world's worst combover, an aging Carlos is keenly aware that his glory days are long behind him. When he gets an urgent message that his former dance partner Margarita (Mercedes Morán, Neruda) has passed, Carlos hurries back to Buenos Aires only to discover that not only is the reclusive Margarita alive, but she has a secret that will make Carlos reluctantly climb aboard their rusted one-time touring van. Alongside cheeky former manager Pichuquito (Jorge Marrale, Best Supporting Actor—Málaga Film Festival), they start a journey on the roads of Argentina. But as the bickering starts and old resentments surface, decades-old secrets are quickly revealed, leading to an unexpected road guest, a detour with a group of enthusiastic cops, and Pichu letting loose with his own long-buried secret—and an even bigger surprise. A fresh, heartwarming and delightful new comedy from writer/director Marina Seresesky, and winner of the Audience Award at the 2023 Málaga Film Festival.
