She provided intel on union leaders like Cesar Chavez and Popeye Jackson and protest groups like the SLA and Vietnam Veterans Against the War. So how did she end up behind the trigger of a .38 Special being fired at President Gerald Ford? For their third collaboration, Stranger Genius Award-winners Robinson Devor and Charles Mudede go straight to the source. The film probes Moore on her motives in icy, espionage-inflected interviews only to find a woman who refuses to provide easy answers. Even in her 90s, she remains combative and unreliable. A portrait of a tumultuous time in American history and the inscrutable character that wanted to be at the center of it all, Suburban Fury must be seen to be believed.
