Everything begins with a distant, waning cry. After Andrea first hears it, she feels a terrifying presence chasing her. A presence she cannot see, understand, or fight back. Twenty years before and thousands of miles away, Marie was haunted by the same harrowing force. Something stalks them, and provokes unthinkable acts of violence with one eerie thing in common: that disturbing sound of a wailing. When it comes time, Camila is the one being tormented, and she desperately tries to find an explanation to help her break the curse. However, in her quest to convince others of her harrowing findings, she may be fatally running out of time. Written with Isabel Peña, Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s regular cowriter (May God Save Us, The Realm, The Beasts), and bolstered by the gripping performances of the three leads– Ester Expósito (Elite, Venus), the French actress Mathilde Ollivier (1899). and the Argentinian actress Malena Villa (El Angel)–Pedro Martín-Calero’s directorial debut is a chilling, entertaining, and highly effective horror film that will linger ominously in everyone’s minds longer after leaving the movie theater.
