The Adventures of Antoine Doinel
François Truffaut's 400 Blows, Stolen Kisses, Bed and Board, & Love on the Run.
October 28-30, 2022
François Truffaut’s debut feature, The 400 Blows is both an inaugural gesture of the revolutionary French New Wave and an introduction to his indelible creation: Antoine Doinel. Closely modeled after Truffaut himself, the Doinel character, played by the incomparable Jean-Pierre Léaud, reappeared in four subsequent films over the next 20 years that knowingly portrayed his myriad frustrations and romantic entanglements from his stormy teens through marriage, children, divorce, and adulthood. SIFF presents the four feature-length films in this series, The 400 Blows, Stolen Kisses, Bed and Board, and Love on the Run.
