Seattle Turkish Film Festival: Black Night (Gala Film and Party)

Ishak, a musician living in a small town in Anatolia, faces his past and the collective anger of villagers. Screening at SIFF Uptown will follow with a Gala Party at MoPOP featuring KEXP DJ Darek Mazzone.

Screening at SIFF Cinema Uptown will be followed by a "see and be seen" Gala Party at MoPOP featuring KEXP DJ Darek Mazzone where you can dance the night away in the dazzling SkyChurch venue and tour the 2nd floor galleries. Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.

Multi-award-winning filmmaker Özcan Alper (including Locarno International Film Festival), who received acclaim from Seattle audiences with the 2015 film Memories of the Wind (featured during STFF 2016), will be the guest of with the film Black Night. The film revolves around a lynching incident which Ishak, who hails from a small mountain town and earns his living as a musician, was involved in seven years ago.
Winner of numerous awards including Best Director (2022 Ankara International Film Festival), Best Film and Best Screenplay (2022 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival). Nominated for the Antigone d’Or (2022 Cinemed International Mediterranean Film Festival, Montpellier).
