CLASS DESCRIPTION | DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CLASE
As a documentary filmmaker, finding an unique subject is just part of the challenge, but distilling their experience into a dramatic work of cinema is another story altogether. Núria Frigola Torrent, director of The Song of the Butterflies (SIFF 2021) and producer of Daughter of the Lake, presents a comparative analysis of her two films and how she identifies a subject and works alongside them to identify a story through a documentary lens.
Como directora de documentales, encontrar a un sujeto es solo parte del reto, pero destilar su experiencia en una obra cinematográfica dramática es otra historia. Núria Frigola Torrent, directora de The Song of the Butterflies (SIFF 2021) y productora de Daughter of the Lake, presenta un análisis comparativo de sus dos películas y cómo identifica un tema y trabaja junto a sus sujetos para identificar una historia a través de un lente documental.
